“Emergency Preparedness and Preparing for the Last Days”
- It was not raining when Noah built the arc…but he built it anyways.
- “If ye are prepared, you shall not fear.”
- Financial Preparedness
- Savings = income – expenditures.
- Keep track of your finances.
- Avoid debt…this relieves stress!
- Hold Family Council
- Helps to Prioritize.
- Schedule upcoming events and needs.
- Opportunities for instruction.
- Communication
- Set a time for it…and make sure it happens!
- Physical Preparedness
- Do you know our ward/Wymount's disaster plan? Check out the information on your heater closet door!
- Our wards meeting place is in the field behind building 15A.
- In case of a disaster, BYU has food for students and their families, but not medications or baby supplies.
- Things we can do / have to be physically prepared:
- First aid kit in home and in car.
- 72 hour kits.
- Blankets in car, water bottles in car.
- Small shovel in car.
- Keep as much gas as possible in your car, check oil often.
- Flashlight by bed.
- Have cash available.
- Have 3-6 months of food storage…including water supply!
- Keep important documents all in one place.
- BE PROACTIVE! The time to act is now.
- Spiritual Preparedness

- Mosiah 4:16-30 – Read with your spouse to see how we can prepare as a couple for disasters and calamities.
- Keep our Covenants!
It is not only big disasters that we need to be prepared for; we need to also be prepared for the daily calamities that come our way.
