Spotlight - Katie N.

Katie’s birthday is June 19. She met her husband Joe in orchestra about a year and a half ago (Summer of '07). Apparently they played in a rehearsal together and he talked to her, but she doesn't remember it at all! But that is the first time they "met." (Or he met her anyway!) They got married on June 28, 2008 in the Salt Lake temple. That's pretty much it! Her favorite food to eat is fresh pineapple, cheesecake, and pickles (not together!!) And her favorite food to make is cereal. Her favorite past time is having Nerf gun wars with Joe. Of course, there is ALWAYS enough time for a good Nerf gun war! Katie is the third of four kids...two older brothers (both married) and a little sister. Her favorite moment was when they welcomed Christopher, their bamboo plant, into their family. Her least favorite moment: Saying goodbye to Joe over Christmas Break after they'd dated for a few months. To "let out the steam" she watches reality shows that make her feel better about her life. I bite my fingernails. Bad habit: (According to her husband) she hits the snooze button "a million times" before she wakes up. Good habit: (According to her) she’s a heavy sleeper, and she’s LOVE IT!! And that’s it. Her favorite scripture is D&C 123:17 "Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed." She loves this scripture because it reminds her to be cheerfully proactive (i.e., doing everything that lies in my power) in the midst of her trials, but it also assures me that Heavenly Father will always be there to help her along the way. Her favorite prophet is President Monson because she loves his stories and he is a friend to everyone.
