Thoughts from Easter Sunday

The lesson this week was about the atonement and it was absolutely wonderful! The atonement is such a personal thing, and we invite you all to feast on the words of our prophets and apostles on the subject! Here are some things we talked about in Relief Society:

Luke 22:42-44

Alma 7:12

What are some characteristics we need to have to partake of the atonement?

We need to be both humble and willing (as the Savior was).

The desire to allow the atonement to work in our lives.

Faith, trust and courage.

We need to honest with ourselves and be able to discern when we need to repent.

When in agony, how often do we call upon the Savior?

He is our ultimate example, and he has suffered all things, we need to get on our knees and go to the Lord in our trials!

The Lord has felt all things so that he could succor his people.

When we suffer, we have the opportunity to learn, in a small way, how the Savior suffered for us and then we can learn to love as Christ did.
